Valetta Harbour, Malta

Valetta Harbour, Malta

Having been inspired by a photo I saw from another photographer whose work Iā€™m a big fan of (Kaelyn Korte - https://www.alongtheway.today/), I picked out a spot overlooking the harbour at Valetta in Malta one evening whilst I was on the island with friends for a holiday. The harbour, home to as many superyachts as rickety old fishing boats, is full of history, and zooming in on different parts of the photo reveals the many layers there are to discover in this beautiful part of the world. It took multiple attempts, over the course of about two hours, to come up with a photo I was happy with. Taken in a single exposure, I love how the light trails show the activity present on both the road and the water, the almost indistinguishable horizon where the sea meets the sky, and the calming, orange hues of sodium-streetlights illuminating the centuries old sandstone buildings. Watching the sunset continue from here after taking the photo was worth the trip alone - definitely something everyone should witness if they have the opportunity.
